S1E10 - Dr. Lonnie Barbach - Intimacy, Relationships and Sexuality

Dr. Barbach is a celebrated and world-renowned psychologist, as well as an author and a pioneer in the research and the study of human sexuality, intimacy and relationships. We’ll focus on the serious considerations that impact health and happiness. We discussed the hallowed ground of both physical and emotional intimacy between couples. This episode is relevant for anyone in a relationship or considering entering a relationship. For most, when all is said and done, sex is less important than safety. Understanding the how and why is essential to healthy relationships.

That said, I once actually introduced her as (and then discovered that a number of other people had given a similar introduction,) “the person who had probably taught more women than anyone alive how to be orgasmic.” I think that claim could be quantified and proven.

She's also a major innovator in bringing women's erotica into the mainstream. Her first book, which sold millions of copies worldwide, was translated into eight languages, was called For Yourself: the Fulfillment of Female Sexuality, and she's also the author of a number of other books, including For Each Other: Sharing Sexual Intimacy, and The Pause: Positive Approaches to Menopause. I named just a couple of her many works.  She has been co-director of the clinical training in the UCSF Clinical Sexuality Program and a recipient of the American Medical Writers Association Award.

We’ll cover all this and more.  Join us.
